Affiliate Marketing is one of my favorite ways to create passive income from my blog and it works really well no matter your niche.

Affiliate Marketing is great for beginners because you are selling someone else’s product that already has an audience and a sales page set up for conversions. This means you do not have to deal with customer service, inventory, shipping or returns. As an Affiliate you choose to promote the product you want, and this product will already have a good brand.

Of course, it’s not as easy as some will make it sound, you will definetly not make millions over night, you might not even make a sale for your first week, because it takes time and strategy. Just like anything else in life, you will have to put in the work. That being said, you can definetly make a full time income as an Affiliate.

If you’re ready to start making money with your blog, I highly recommend affiliate marketing even if you are a beginner.

So, how can you actually make your first Affiliate sale? How can you promote your blog and gain quality traffic?

1. Understanding Your Audience And The Problem

Affiliate Marketing is about solving a problem for your audience, you can solve this problem with a certain product or service to make their life easier, and remember always give your audience options.

To make money blogging, you must understand your audience.

Why would someone come to your blog?

Your audience is coming to you for something. So take a look at what your blog is and what it focuses on.

Are they looking for a product or service, advice or even for entertainment.

Get a clear understanding of why someone is coming to your blog, what they are looking for. Once you learn this, you can better cater to your audience and help them pick the right product or service.

2. What will your Blog Post consit of

Some posts you write (especially at the begining of your journey as an Affiliate) will be geared towards getting people to your blog, while others will be to make money (promots affiliate links with in your blog)

Some Blog Post Options

The How to Blog – Show your audience how to do something, for example “How to start Affiliate Marketing for Beginners”. This blog shows my audience how to begin their journey as an Affiliate.

You can show your audience how to do something or write reviews, so they can choose a better product.

The Why?

You have to solve a problem for your audience, tell your audience why it’s a problem, and give them solutions with the right product to use as well as valuable information.

The Reviews

Review posts are great for promoting a product or service, because you can tell your audience the positives and negatives of that product to help them make a better choice.

Following these steps will also help grow your brand. This means more traffic to your website, and returning visitors.

BIG TIP: Only promote products you have personally used or done extensive research on. Your audience will catch on if you are lying to them and this will break your brand.

3. Gain Traffic to your site

Marketing is key when it comes to driving high quality traffic to your blog, this is key to making your first sale.

Marketing can be anywhere, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Google, Youtube…. You need a strategy. You dont want just anyone visiting your site, you want the right people, the people interested and the people that will buy.

Remember, dont just write content, create quality content.

Run different Ads

Dont just post one ad and hope to gain traffic, run different unique ads, use different captions, different audience, different keywords. Find the one that works for you and keep developing it.

This will help you gain the right audience, because you dont just want numbers, you want quality.

Internal Links

Always revisit old blog posts and add links to your new posts, vice versa. Not only will this help your audience get better learning and a better experience, Google also like this a lot. This shows Google that your website is good, as all your content is not going outside.

Of course, only do this where appropriate.

This can also help with your bounce rate and keeping people on your blog longer because they are looking at multiple posts per visit.

Social Media

Use Social Media platforms to promote your blog posts and to promote your brand. This will also help with gaining traffic to your website

Serve Your Audience

The point of affiliate marketing and blogging is to serve your audience. Give them a reason to trust you and to actually decide to purchase a product you promote. Do that and you will be able to make your first affiliate sale and continue to make sales.
